Floyd Douglas Bosko (Lieutenant Colonel Ret’d)

Passed away on April 8, 2018 at the age of 74. Please don’t mourn me; I would much prefer that you celebrate my life and the great times I enjoyed. During my formative years, I received guidance and the love of my parents as the second child, and only son of Rev. Nicholas and Janet Bosko. In my adult life, I enjoyed the love and an amazing girlfriend/ wife/lover/best friend, Mary Ellen (Hornsby), who I met on my first day of High School. I have given and received the love and respect of our son, Jeffrey (Michelle); admired the beauty, charm and wisdom beyond her years of our granddaughter, Jacqueline and marveled at the enthusiasm for life of our grandson, Andrew. Throughout my life, I was supported by a caring and loving family and I cherished them dearly. Fortune also smiled on me in my professional life as I joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1962 and subsequently flew with the Canadian Forces as well as Britain’s Royal Air Forces. I flew 12 types of aircraft ranging from single engine prop to four engine jets as well as helicopters-both land-based and shipborne. I have explored parts of six continents (missed Antarctica), visited 44 countries and had the privilege of living with my family in three of them. Following my 26 year Forces career, I joined Computing Devices Canada in Ottawa where, for the next 17 years, I held a variety of Management and Marketing positions as they transitioned to become General Dynamics Canada. Before, during and after my two careers, I worked with, and for, some amazing people and was blessed with outstanding friends. My daily life was enriched through these many military and civilian friendships worldwide. So please don’t mourn for me; celebrate my life in your own way.
