We are deeply saddened by the passing of Joseph E Carver, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Sunday July 3rd 2016 at the age of 87 (just shy of his 88th birthday). Joseph proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for twenty-two years. He was an active member in the Freemasons for over sixty years (Ionic-Kent no.19). Joseph was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame as a member of the Shearwater Flyers Football Team, 1957 Dominion Football Champions. Joseph enjoyed playing a round of golf with friends and was a veracious reader in particular he loved Naval History and non-fiction. Along with his loving wife, Dorothy Kathleen Emily, Joseph is survived by his daughters Dorothy (Gordon) Green of Maple Ridge, BC and Nancy (Stephen) Johnston of North Vancouver; grandchildren: Kimberly (Rodney) Green, Joseph (Megan) Green, Alexander Green, Dorian Green, Elena Green, Leyland (Stephanie) Hiphner, Devon Hiphner; and great grandchildren: Samuel Green, Riley Green, Deacon Green, Nya Green and Carver Green; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph is predeceased by his daughter Victoria Carver (1977) and his brother Robert James Carver (2015).
