Age 80, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 28, 2018. Born in Cobalt, Ont., Wayne served in the military (Naval Air) for 38 years. Wayne is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Heather (Bruce); and sons, Scott (Paula), Steven (Meredith), Darren (Sandra), Derek (Eileen); grandsons, Nicholas and Joshua. He was predeceased by father, T. Nicholas Fairbairn; mother, Alma Rae; stepfather, Leslie Steele; half-brother, Merdy Armstrong. Wayne excelled in sports, playing hockey and football for Shearwater Flyers and coaching PA High's football team. He golfed in summer and spent winters at the rink watching his grandsons' and the Mooseheads' games. He enjoyed reading (Louis Lamour, etc).
