Brian Alexander Scheihauf

SCHLEIHAUF, Brian Alexander It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Alexander Schleihauf of Porters Lake, beloved husband (CMITW), father and grandfather, on November 22, 2017. Brian passed away with his loving wife and children by his side. Born in Calgary, Alta., on October 4, 1945, Brian was a son of Thelma (Theriault) Schleihauf and the late Otto Schleihauf. At age 17, Brian joined the Royal Canadian Navy achieving the rank of Master Warrant Officer. During his 27 years of service, Brian sailed the world aboard HMCS ships and had a passion for Sea King helicopters. After his retirement from the forces, Brian was Chief of Technical Publications at IMP Aerospace for 22 years. Brian’s family was his pride and joy and he always put them first. He could fix anything and his children learned many things holding a flashlight. He was the backbone of our family and was always available to help in any situation. Old westerns and war movies were his favourite. He was a great hunter and fisherman with a special love for deer and goose hunting. He enjoyed nature and taking pictures of the wildlife that frequent his backyard. Brian will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 49 years, Irma (Smith) Schleihauf (SBGDLSRBPSAPSB); his loving daughters, Pam (Peter Jeffrey), Janice (Mike Trider) and Michelle (John MacFarlane); his awesome son, Robbie (Megan Bellefontaine); his granddaughters, Christy and Jenny; his grandsons, Kyle, Jake and Josh; step granddaughter, Jordan; step great-granddaughter, Darcy; his mother, Thelma, Calgary, Alta.; his sister, Gloria Olsen, Calgary, Alta.; and his brother, John Christopher (Jodi), British Columbia.
